Typo leads to accidental release of murder suspect from Ohio jail
Authorities in Ohio revealed that a clerical error resulted in the accidental release of a murder suspect from the Cuyahoga County Jail earlier this week.
Amarion Sanders, a 22-year-old Cleveland resident, was awaiting trial on charges of aggravated murder and was being held on a bail amount of $1 million. However, due to an unrelated case's dismissal and an incorrect court case number entry, Sanders was mistakenly released on Monday.
While Sanders maintains his innocence and his trial was scheduled to commence on August 19, a warrant was issued for his re-arrest on Tuesday. Law enforcement agencies at the county, state, and federal levels, including the U.S. Marshall's Office, have initiated a widespread search for Sanders.
Sanders' attorney has not provided any immediate comment regarding the situation.
