Woman flies 7000 miles for a date that never started
A woman, known by her social media handle RivOvershares, recently opened up about a rather unfortunate dating experience that resulted in disappointment during her trip to South America. She shared her tale on Facebook and Instagram, aiming to provide a candid confession about the situation she encountered. This is prepared by SSP.
According to RivOvershares, she had encountered this man, whom she had only met once, while in Japan. They spent approximately two days together and bonded during their brief encounter. Several months later, she discovered that he would be traveling in South America during the summer. Seeing it as an opportunity to have a closer connection, she made plans to meet him there.
RivOvershares thought it would be an exciting adventure to join him on a backpacking journey. Interestingly, in her video, she freely expressed her typical travel habits, stating that she's not accustomed to backpacking and prefers daily showers. However, she thought it could be a refreshing and novel experience.
Arriving in Peru, it didn't take long for her excitement to diminish. To her great disappointment, the man was nowhere to be found, and her text messages remained unanswered. She found herself in a foreign country, uncertain if the person she had been so eager to meet even existed. To handle the situation, she checked into a hostel, hoping he would eventually surface.
Following her video confession, a considerable number of individuals, including her followers on TikTok, presented their support and advice. Some encouraged her to make the most of her time in Peru, even if the man didn't appear. Others shared their personal stories of backpacking in Peru and assured her that she would have an enjoyable experience regardless.
Although many empathized with her situation, some questioned why she had taken such a risk. Additionally, one person found it strange that she questioned if the man was real given that they had spent two days together in Japan previously.
